Getting ready to move and found a black 160GB YMX serial iPod Classic tucked away in a drawer. Pretty sure this is the "fat" version from around 2007-2009. It's in really nice condition. No dings or dents and low mileage.

In preparation to sell it, I've tried to update the firmware but iTunes doesn't seem to be able to connect to the firmware server. Seems like a known issue.

I tracked down a repository of firmware and I'm pretty sure it will only take 2.0.4. Can anyone confirm this?

And if 2.0.4 is indeed the correct firmware, is there any reason NOT to update the current firmware of 1.1.2? I know some collectors or people with car compatibility issues might want older firmware.

To be clear, this is not a marketplace ad!

Thanks.
