I am thinking about selling my Droid to buy an iPad, what do you guys think? Has anyone done anything similar? I am wondering what are the benefits and disadvantages of getting the iPad over staying with the Droid. I would get the WiFi only iPad, so we could save $30 a month on the data plan too. The 3G is out because we are trying to save money. I know it seems stupid to want an iPad and save money, but I am selling stuff to get and there won't be a recurring fee. I was thinking I would miss the gps functions and having the maps on hand (especially turn by turn), but my main concern is not having internet everywhere I go. Do you think I should buy the iPad or stick with the Droid? Also I am the type of person who would carry this everywhere. Thanks.

I sold my Nexus One yesterday and then went to the local Apple Store and picked up an iPad. If you thought the Droid had a nice screen.. Just wait until you get your hands on an iPad. Whatever Apple uses to deciper touch, it's 100x better than what I had to deal with my Android phones.

However, I still have a BlackBerry. I would say for you it's a toss up. What would you value more? Money or internet everywhere? I know my iPad would go first before the smartphone. But I'm not always blanketed in wifi, so having portable internet access is very useful.

I haven't used my droid for Internet since i bought my iPad. But i wouldn't sell it for the iPad. That's my mobile hotspot haha. Plus it's an awesome phone, enjoy it. You can't always take the ipad with you, remember that.

get a second job and keep both. or just get a job, if you are unemployed.

Hell, do what you want!!

Blackberry plus iPad is a good combo(except for touch screen Blackberry). The only reason I'm keeping my android phone is tethering. Other than that I have found that the touch screen features on the phone are starting to feel really clunky after being spoiled by the iPad.
