My iMac G5 is coming up to 2 years old, at the time I bought it I wanted a Powerbook but I just couldn't justify spending all that money on a machine that even then had such lowly specs (G4 and 167MHz FSB really put me off!)

Now that Apple have laptops out that I want to buy I'm wanting to sell my iMac whilst I can still get a decent amount of money for it.

Do you think £800 is a reasonable price for a 2GHz 20" with 2GB RAM and a 400GB hard drive?

I'm going to be using the laptop for DJing using Ableton Live 5 and Traktor 2, a bit of work in Photoshop, running Parallels (very handy for experimenting with Windows builds) and doing some film editing, I'm finding iMovie too limited so might have to go for Final Cut. I'm going to have to have buy more external hard drives to store all my files.

Don't know whether to go for the black Macbook or the 15.4" Macbook Pro, I prefer the Macbook's keyboard and like the size for portability but fear it might be a bit too small for the kind of work I want to do on it - I've used Sony Vaios with 1280x800 resolution screens and found them very usable but they were 15.4". How usable is the Macbook's 13.3" screen at this res for the apps I'm going to be using, I can't find out in a shop as they don't have Photoshop or any DJing software installed.

I've never liked the idea of integrated graphics with it taking up system RAM but having used a Macbook in a shop I was impressed with the graphics performance, opening Dashboard was a lot smoother than on my iMac.

If I get a Macbook I can afford 2GB RAM, with the Macbook Pro only 1GB - will I notice a substantial performance hit from only having 1GB? Running Parallels is my main concern with this.

I'm going to wait for Leopard to come out before making a purchase but after that it's a balance between selling the iMac for the most money I can get for it and waiting for the next revision to the MB/MBPs which I guess will be the introduction of the Santa Rosa platform/Penryn CPU - when's that likely to happen? Is Q3 still mooted for Intel launching them?

Is it likely that there'll be a speed bump to around the time Leopard is launched? If there were I'd definitely feel comfortable that it was the right time for me to purchase.
