Hey guys,
I am based in the UK.
I am in a hurry to sell my 2012 mac pro 12 core (2.40ghz, 12 gb ram + radeon 5870) machine, as i have got a new job overseas & its very expensive for me to ship all my stuff with me.

I want to sell it in the next few weeks as I am flying in about a months time, but ebay+paypal hasnt helped a bit and takes a huge chunk off the cost.

What are my best options to sell it and where? and have any of you guys sold yours recently and how much should you be looking at for the machine.

It has a 2.4 years of apple care on it too just for the piece of mind of the buyer.

Any help would be awesome.
Thanks.

I am not sure about UK dollars, but a 12-core 2012 Mac Pro(Its a 2010 just speed bumped processor) is worth about 2500 to 3500 depending on what comes with it.

If it has all the discs, manual, SSD drive, etc.. Then it could be sold privately on Craigslist or even ebay for as high as 3000-3500, or possibly more. And price would depend on all software you intend to include with it.

I don't think you are eligible to use the Classifieds on this forum so I suspect your best bet is actually eBay, especially if you have your original packaging. I know the fees are bad but you are in a hurry.

If you use Craigslist, be careful and bring a friend. You have something worth being mugged for.

I may well be interested anisatam. Where are you based? And how much are you looking for?

I just sold my 4 month old Mac Pro for $3000 via word of mouth at a local college where I teach. It was a 12-core with 48GB of RAM, a 480GB 6G OWC SSD, 1TB second SATA drive, a nVidia GTX 570 and nVidia GT 120. It was so new I never upped the Applecare. I'm sure I could've gotten a lot more for it but the girl who bought it just had a successful Kickstarter campaign and is about to start a film shot on a Blackmagic Cinema Camera and that video card setup was made for Resolve, so I hooked her up.
