Hey guys!

Looking to throw my old iPhone on eBay to fund my 3GS purchase. I've never messed with anything to do with unlocking/jailbreaking before.

First off, what exactly is the difference between "unlocking" the phone, and "jailbreaking" the phone?

Secondly, I used QuickPwn to unlock my iPhone. It seemed successful. But, other than a new icon on my home screen, how can I be sure it worked?

Thanks!

Unlocking means that you are able to use any sim card with the phone.

Jailbreaking just means that you are able to put apps on your phone that the app store does not allow.

To make sure that your unlock worked, all you have to do is pop in a Tmobile sim card (or a sim card other than AT&T's) and see if the phone works

Enjoy your 3GS!
