Lol this is getting ridiculous but I can't help myself. I love macbooks and thinkpads but have no use for multiple laptops so I always sell one to buy the other. I kinda hope now the next MBA is not too great so I don't feel like trading for it too quickly. The MBA after the next will be mine though! :D

i don't blame ya. i'm looking at dumping my mint 13 ultimate and 27" acd for a complete thinkpad x220/lcd monitor setup. i use ms office a lot and it's just subpar on the mac os. i also find the filing system to be quite clunky on the mac os.

lots of positive going for it though so... debating whether i want to go thru the hassle of selling my mac goodies.

Curious. Why do you feel the file system is sub par on Osx?

Have to agree about the filing system on Win7/Office2010, it's great with the preview and search functions-- and blazing fast on a i5/7 system.... very handy when navigating through lots of files/folders. Though I will keep my MBA-13 for the screen resolution and battery life, mostly for browsing and reading.

There is nothing wrong with the file system in osx and it certainly is not clunky. What is clunky though is finder itself, but explorer in windows 7 is also clunky compared to xp. There are a couple of things that are highly annoying about finder, but once you've learnt how to use Automator and finder to manage your files you'll never think about explorer again. I also like having the terminal to manage files, but I am probably in the minority.

^ I agree in that sense. I love the look and feel of explorer on Windows XP; not so much with 7. Now with finder, I find it a slight mix between the two. Luckily I have always kept my documents and things organized so moving everything over to the new computer was quick and easy.

Spotlight (Alfred) works wonders now though.

you're selling an 11" Air for the X1?

isn't the X1 like twice the price, or more?

and you can of course run Windows on the Air.

So, why?
