So I bought a refubished macbook air two months ago for 1150, now I want to sell it for a 11.6" air. I have two options

1) sell it for 900 at a local buyer/seller, guaranteed
-or-
2) drive 90 miles round trip to sell it for 1100, keep in mind my car gets 15-20 mpg at $3 per gallon which isn't a guaranteed sale, since it's through craigslist

I really just want to unload this mba revC asap so I can order the 11.6", but I am torn do I take the chance to gain +170 in revenue or just make the quick sale locally?

Quick for sure sale.

That's what I'm doing with my rev C

sell it local or tell the guy that is willing to pay 1100 to meet closer. serious buyers are willing to make the drive. i used to go out of my way to sell things on craigslist, but no more. if the buyers wants something, he/she will meet where i want, when i want.

the $1100 will lowball you after you have driven that 90 miles to bring it to him.
so you will NOT get $1100 in reality, if he even buys it.

deal LOCALLY and have buyers COME TO YOU.

+1, or offer to round it to 1000 if he picks it up himself :)

Definitely don't drive out there. I made a mistake of driving to a buyer that ended up not even showing up. Luckily it was only 20 minutes away...

And plus when you drive out there he will have more leverage. He will probably offer $900, and with you having wasted your time driving out there you will be more likely to take the money to end the hassle because if you don't you just wasted time + gas money.

Ya, I'll be selling it locally for $900 tomorrow, I went on Monday to get the quote so it should be a done deal
