I have a 14 Pro Max 256GB in great condition with T-Mobile, and am considering trying to sell it instead of trading it in. I checked eBay recently sold prices for used phones with my specs and they seem to vary all over the place. I could sell on eBay, or Facebook Marketplace using PayPal, though I have a few questions:

1. how common is it to get scammed as a seller by a buyer when selling via eBay or FB Marketplace?
2. any suggestions to minimize the chances of being scammed? I would video myself showing the phone working and being packed up before being shipped off.
3. are there any better places to sell than eBay or FB marketplace?

Thanks in advance

I have bought a few used iPhones on Swappa and a few android devices, and sold a couple too.
No problem on Swappa for me.

Maybe consider Swappa? I've used it before and worked out well. You can get scammed no matter which platform you use. You can take steps to minimize your exposure but in the end PayPal will usually side with the purchaser. You have 6 months to dispute a purchase when using PayPal so you're always looking over your shoulder until the 6 months is over. Selling locally or to a friend for cash is the best method as long as you meet in a safe place like a police station or Apple Store..
