Selling various components on Ebay

This will be kinda funny to those of you who followed my last thread.


I have various parts of a Macbook that work just fine that I'd like to sell on ebay.

This includes but isn't limited to:

LCD Assembly
Hard Drive
RAM
Combo Drive
CPU

My question is, is there anywhere I can find the values of these things new or used, and is there even any demand for them? I don't see any macbook parts on ebay at all right now.

Long story short, it's cheaper to buy a new Macbook than to replace the Logic board in it, so I'm trying to cover the remaining cost on it.

either find a website with people selling those parts... or trial & error. start with something low, and see if it even gets bids. if it does... u can always put a reserve price up

Hey, aren't you the guy who spilled 50 mL of water all over his new MacBook?

If you're gonna sell all the remaining parts on eBay, you should make damn certain that those parts actually work, and perhaps even mention that on your listing.

EDIT: I know you don't have enough posts for the Marketplace yet, but if you talk to a mod, you might be able to get permission to post a feeler thread on there to get an idea of how much things are worth. As long as you don't sell anything

Just search Ebay for similar items, and see what they're going for.

Use the "best offer" option. Figure out what you think they are worth, add in a little for the ebay & paypal fees, and make that the "buy it now" price.

You will get some lowballers, but also some more realistic ones too. take the one that is closest to your price and be happy.


Or just do a regular auction w/ the starting price at $1.00, and set the reserve price at or close to what you think the items are really worth. That way, if nobody meets your reserve, you dont have to sell them. But if someone comes close, you can send them a "second chance" offer after the auction ends
