It would be nice if the iTMS let me send a song to a friend. There are a couple songs I thought my sister would like or I would just like her to hear. I'd be willing to pay the .99 but have an email sent to her allowing her to download the song I've sent. Anyone else think this would be a nice feature to add?

yes

that would rock the house

they kinda helped this when they gave the gift certs but still..its nice to send just one and to pick it even better if you want that personally touch of selection...i think that would be really cool

your recipient would have to have an iTunes ID so that the song could be linked to their account, in the same way your purchases are linked to your account.

but now that i think about it... you've come up with a great way to get new users to the store! "jholzner has sent you an iTunes song. Please enter your iTunes account name and password to authenticate. Don't have an iTunes account? Visit the iTunes store today to register -- it's free!"

sell that idea, dude!

Cool idea! You'd think that even though the downloads say "these are for one PC (or MAC for that matter) they allow you to burn CDs forever. If there was a feature that would allow to export as some kind of audio file format, like .wav or .snd or some kind of mpg (help me here I don't know allthese extension) But you get the idea.

Wow, that is an awesome idea. Aside from the potential of evangelizing, it'd just be a really cool way to give a gift or share music legally (not to mention, make it easy to send someone a song without having to attach a 4MB file to an email message).

Paypal has had a very similar system for a while--send anybody money, but they have to sign up to get it if they don't have an account--and I'm sure it's done good things for them.

sending iTunes

I came accross a little app that allows you to record ANY streamed audio you play. It's called "Wire Tap" I don't remember exactly where I got it from but if you do a google search I'm sure you'll find it. What I did was this;
1. launched Wire Tap
2. launched iTunes
3. click on the "Record" button in Wire Tap, then played a song from my iTunes Library.
4. when the song finished, click on "Stop Recording" in Wire Tap and you'll find a "WireTap_recording001.aiff" on the desktop.
(in this case a 1:50 song came out as a 8.7mb file)
I then dropped the file onto DropStuff and ended up with a 2.5mb .sit file.
I know that is still large as e-mailing goes but at least it allows the export of the songs.

find it and have fun....

OK I just went in search of a conversion engine and found something called "N2MP3pro" I downloaded the free trial version and will evaluate it. The app costs $54.00, so I didn't want to pay up front for what I am unfamilluar with. I'll get back to you later on may results.
