I am curious if there is anything built into the Mac to be able to make an app think it is a specific date even if incorrect?

I obviously can set the clock back but this interferes with SSL for website usage?

I use an app that expired on the 21/08/2017 but if the system reports an earlier date it works fine.

Any ideas? Thanks.

Are you asking us to bypass an app license?
Did the app get removed from the app store? Why not contact the app seller or download the app again?

It was never on the App Store so not possible.

I only ask because their underhanded tactics have made the app expire previously it was a buy once use forever (or until not compatible).

I paid for the application and then was forced into a pro licence which was never asked for but they gifted.

Gotcha... sadly no.

The only choice is to pony up the cash or AND I WOULD STRONGLY RECOMMEND find another app. There are tons of knowledgeable people on here that may be able to point you to a better app.

Just let us know what you are looking for.

PS. The company's provisioning profile may have expired. This would disable the app via Apple's gatekeeper. I think I got that right.

You're right, an expired provisioning profile would make the app get blocked by Gatekeeper but you can always right-click and hit "Open" to open it anyway.

Firstly, greetings to a fellow citizen of Yorkshire.

I'd echo what folks above have said. Even if you did manage to find a way of faking the date, it could result in all sorts of unexpected Bad Things occurring. Probably more hassle than it's worth.

The big question is: What was the app? Maybe folks here will be able to recommend an alternative?

Parallels VMWare is an alternative but I am waiting for version 10, the performance isn't comparable until then.

:) ah another Yorkshire person
