Sending iMac 21.5 away to apple tommorow due to an incredibly irritating black down left side, does anyone know how long it will be away, becos ive already packed it uP and im lost already withiut it?

Also what will they do if they cannot fix it, will they send me a new one or will they send it back still with the line? (it is still under warrenty).

Please answer both questions.

Sorry for any mistakes Im on my phone.

Thanks.

Without a picture of the line, I can only speculate.

My guess is if it's as bad as you say, they'll either repair or replace it - I can't imagine they'd send it back to you and say, "Deal with it."

You DID back everything up before sending it in, didn't you? You just might get a replacement, and they won't guarantee your data.

Good thing it's under warranty.

I backed up everything i wanted yeah, but just like left all the apps and stuff on it. I can get all the apps again and ive just backed up pictures and well i have music on my phone.

Typically any in store repair for a screen or mainboard can be done within a week. Now take that and add shipping time. If Apple deems it more cost effective to send you a replacement then it may be slightly faster. Odds are any repair facility you send it to would have the parts so it may even be faster yet.
Hope that helps!

Pics of line for the guy who asked.

Looks like someone's getting a new LCD... easy repair and won't take much time at all.
