My macbook has screen flickering and it gets really bad and annoying sometimes. Will taking it into the apple store and getting it fixed stop the flickering, or will it come back eventually?

I doubt the guys at the Apple Stores would be able to replace a screen. They would probably send your MBP to an Authorized Service Center. So, knowing that I'd find a local ASC yourself and take it there. Save a little time.
That's my 2 cents...
I myself...I'm considering a MBP...and am wondering about having to get it serviced. As I've heard about the "expanding battery" problem with the 17" MBPs. Some owners on this forum have admitted to running into this problem. And I've read about this elsewhere. How some company ordered 5 17" MBP. All had the battery problem. Yet when I looked on the Apple.com site they make no mention of it.
Only acknowledging a batter problem on 15" MBP purchased between Feb 2006 and April 2007.
Gets me a little concerned about picking up a MBP. Making me wonder if I shouldn't just stick with getting a PC based laptop like the HP 9380 or the Toshiba G30. Yet I've been seriously considering a MBP. Appreciate iLife and iWork. As well as the intelligence in design of Apple hardware.
If it weren't for the battery issues and the few incidents of screens with a bright beam of light on the bottom edge of some screens...
Has any one had problems with the screen...not flickering but a "beam of light on the bottom edge"? Or problems with the batteries?? If so, what were you experiences getting the problems fixed?
