I am making this thread to see if anyone else is having similar issues with the HomePod personal request feature in particular sending text messages using the speaker. I have done extensive research, and I have come up with the goose egg. I have an iPhone X and it is on the same 5Ghz AC wireless network as the HomePod (most of the time it is in the same room). I will go to read messages and it will work, then it asks if I want to respond, and I say yes, and and about 75% of the time the HomePod says "To send messages on this HomePod your iPhone must be connected to the same Wi-Fi network (Estimate, might not be the exact message)." I have reached out to Apple, and so far no one I have spoke to there knows what the issue is either. I have to reestablish a connection with my case's senior advisor, but she didn't know the last time I spoke to her. The HomePod doesn't have any other signs of connectivity issues, which points me to the iPhone not maintaining a Wi-Fi connection when sleeping, or not reconnecting upon request from the HomePod. The iPhone always says it is connected when I wake it. I have tried: Restoring iPhone, resetting HomePod, and moving router closer to the 2. It seemed to be more reliable when the iPhone was on the 2.4Ghz network, but that could not be confirmed. The only thing I didn't try up to this point is shutting off my router's WMM Power Save setting.
