Sending text to group, have to type in each individual name??

Ok, lets try this again. Posted this before but seems maybe i'm the only one with this issue because I got zero replies??

When I try to send something like a photo or link or something to an existing group chat, I would usually just start typing the name of one of the people in the group their name would show up, and then group chats I am in with that person would show up. Most of the groups are not named, a couple are and they used to show up or the groups with just the list of everyone in the group would appear and I would tap on that to send it. Now only that one persons name shows up.

Anyone else having this issue or found a solution??

Here is an example. I am in like 3-4 different group chats with this person. All of them used to show up when typing his name, now it’s just this

Same exact thing happened to me recently. Driving me crazy as I have to manually enter each contact I want to text. Never had this issue until about 6-8 weeks ago.

What phone model and OS are you on? I just checked my phone and when I enter a few letters in the to: section a list of individuals, companies, as well as members in group texts show up as possible addressees. I have iOS 16.0.2.

Have you tried shutting down and restarting your phone? Seems that some random flaky behavior is corrected by doing this.
