I can see the two sensors at the top of the screen with out even squinting, there is also a white dot next to the speaker opening on the front of the phone below the glass.

Can anyone else see the sensors?

The infrared (proximity) and ambient light sensors are behind the glass at the top . Can't see them unless in bright light. (had to shine a flashlight directly on the area). Not sure what you meant by "squinting" - they're pretty large. Actually, never noticed until I did this.

There's nothing at the bottom by the speaker.

All the other sensors are internal.

what Im saying is even in normal light indoors, i can see the senors with out having to do anything weird like shine a flashlight at it.

The white speck is either dust or a piece of the black flaked off and it is by the earpeace speaker right below the 2 senors.

this is my 3rd phone (first 2 had battery problems) So I am getting really frustrated with the quality of the phones I have gotten.

Do what I did. Return it, and wait until apple refines their manufacturing process. It really is why they are taking back iphones no-questions asked in most cases. They know there are defects, and now they are trying to iron them out. Or, you could roll the dice again. I tried twice...and my patience wore out.

there doesnt seem to be a quality issue with your 3rd phone..

i agree, the two phones that had battery problems had quality issues, but a piece of dust in the earpiece and being able to see some sensors? give me a break... the term "jesus phone" was a joke, it seems you thought they were serious

go ahead and return it, and when your next iphone's apple logo on the back isnt shiny enough for you, you can complain again

Spending 600 dollars on a product that has a white spec which MAYor MAY NOT be dust is unexceptable after less then 1 days use. I can understand something like that happening a couple of months later, but not less then a day. And the fact that the sensors are visible on the 3rd replacement and not the first or second does seem like a defect.

Yea, I had to return mine because the brushed aluminum on the back seemed to have uneven grain, also the box it came in had a small dent on the corner.
UNACCEPTABLE!!!

Are you kidding me? Dust is unacceptable? (you spelling unacceptable as "unexceptable" is unacceptable)

Come on, grow up... You phone has a piece of dust in the earpiece... If you want to try to return it then go ahead... Im sure the Apple genius will be laughing on the inside... But dont act like the quality of the phone is horrible. Be pissed about the first two phones you owned, not the dusty one or the one that doesnt have the extra dark tinted glass...

The cellophane wrapper on my iPhone box was torn on one small corner. I refused it and asked for another one because it looked like someone tried taking a peak at what was inside the box. I didn't want one unless I was the first person to have looked at it. :(:D
