Every time i have sent an email from my iPhone it'll send successfully but will immediately 'ping' into my inbox as well and say it's from me.
I have noticed there is a setting to BCC: emails to yourself but this has never been on.
I have a POP3 set up and have sync'd all my settings from Mail.

Anyone have any clues as to what might be doing this? Is it a Gmail or an iPhone thing?

Thanks in advance - Sam

That is actually normal. It has to do with the way that Gmail handles it's e-mail since all e-mail is actually stored in the "INBOX". The only difference is that the e-mails are tagged with any custom tags plus the inbox, sent, archive tags. Or at least that is how I understand it since I noticed the same thing with my blackberry.

exactly as paleck said. it has to do with the way gmail threads its messages. this also happens in a mail client if you have it set as pop3. you can avoid this by setting up gmail and your iphone as IMAP.

I was having the same problem when using gmail/pop. I changed it to IMAP when in became available last week and now it doesn't do that anymore + you can see all your folders and not just "INBOX".
