Hi (again!),
I'm trying to figure things out with the Mail app..
Both my wife and I check our mail, and we'd like the sent mail to stay
on the server. Is there a way to have her sent mail stored in her sent-mail
file, and mine in my sent-mail file?
If I link Sent with a one file on the server, then I'm guessing that all sent mail (her's and mine) will be stored there! So what's the deal???

Is it an IMAP account? In the Mail preferences, there's a section called Accounts with a subsection called Mailbox Behaviours. From here, you can opt to Store Sent Messages On The Server. :)

but where on the server will it be stored? what would be the name of the
file? and will it be in my or her account? or, depending on the From field,
it will be stored in the corresponding account?

ok forget my stupid question! i did link her sent-mail to the Sent mailbox (using the
pop-up menu in Mailboxes), and it created two Sent mailboxes in Mail.
i didn't try that before, so i thought what it would do is just remove my Sent
mailbox and replace it with her's. but it did things as it was supposed to do,
and everything is fine now.

i think i'm all set now to use Mail app on my mac and Thunderbird at work
(on my Sun machine with linux on it).

life is good!
cheers,
DB
