I have a macbook pro and have tons of music and videos in my library. I was wondering if anyone knows an easy way to transfer just my videos to an external drive so that I can still play my music on my mbp but everything else only on the external.

Thanks for the help!

I would like to do this too. I tried making an Movies alias in my itunes music directory that points to the movies folder on an external but it didn't seem to work.

Any other ideas?

Is there any reason why you couldn't just move the entire library to the external drive?

edit: nevermind didn't notice you're mobile on MBP

1) Drag the videos to the external
2) Delete the videos from iTunes
3) Go to Preferences > Advanced > General, then uncheck Keep iTunes music folder organized and Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library
4) Drag the videos from the external into iTunes
5) Go to Preferences > Advanced > General, then check Keep iTunes music folder organized and Copy files to iTunes music folder when adding to library
6) Repeat as needed.
