Hi there,

I have searched and searched, and not found an answer here or elsewhere.

If I keep a Geforce 120 in my 2009 mac pro hooked up to my monitor through DVI as my main card in OS X, is it possible to install a second GPU outputting through display port that is only used in Windows?

OSX Boot: Geforce GT 120 - DVI
Windows Boot: Amd 6950 - Display Port

Is this possible and is anyone doing it? I DON'T need the 6950 to work under Os X, just under windows.

thanks so much!

I believe that will work.

I have a 2009 MP with a GT120 and an Apple 5870.
Both work for me in OSX and Bootcamp. But if the 5870 was something OSX didn't see, it would still work in BootCamp. Lots of people do that.

If you're brave, you could buy a PC card that can be flashed and then work in both OSs.

You can do it iirc, but you've still got to switch the display cables over when you reboot.

since 6950 needs a soft boot into osx, I don't think it will work.
maybe it only applies if you try to initialize it, dunno.

I do exactly that, on the same monitor too, I just have to switch inputs when I switch OS's.
