Seperate "# of Viewers" for each subforum.

I apologize if this has been asked, but for some time I have been a little curious as to whether or not it is possible to show the number of people viewing a certain subforum on the front page of the Mac Forums.

Here's what I mean. If you look at "Desktops" forum from the front page of the Mac Forums, it says that it has 138 people viewing (now), but this number represents both subforums combined. If you click "Desktops", it basically brings you nowhere since you still have to click a subforum, like MacPro, or iMac, but in this intermediate step it does indeed show you how many people are viewing each of those sub forums. Since I am guessing few people actually click on "Desktops", and rather just click stright off which subforum they want to go in, I am thinking that it would be nice to be able to see the number of viewers individually, right off the bat, on the front page. Sorry for any confusion :eek:
 
I understand just what you mean, and it seems perfectly reasonable.

I'm not sure the forum software can do this trick, but we can check.
 
If you click on a "child" forum (aka, 'macbook, iBook' in the larger 'Notebooks' forum), you can see how many people are viewing it (both users and guests).

I'm sure you have a perfectly good reason, I'm just curious as to what it is. It's not like MR is some sort of MMORPG.

Well, assuming it is an easy thing to do from a technical perspective, why not? It's just one of those little things that makes the boards better.

Do we really need to know where everyone is posting exactly. I think the ball park number works well enough.
 
Okay, I can't tell if you guy think I want the view count on each thread, such as this one (I dont want this) or each sub forum (there are only a few of them on the board). Honestly, I just would like to know how many people are viewing the console forum versus the apple games forum. :eek:
