MP 1,1-5,1 Serial number unavailable on mac pro 3,1

Long story short. I bought a mac pro 3,1 and it came without a serial number. About my mac shows "unavailable" and the sticker from the back has been removed. I also have a mac pro 1,1. I'm wondering if I can use it's serial number on 3,1. Is this possible with blank board serializer?

Serial number for a MP1,1 will show that it's a MP1,1 on AboutThisMac…

Get a real MP3,1 SSN and then use BBS.

Thanks for the reply. I have only one try to program the serial number to the board. If I fail, the mac pro will be a big and heavy door stop.
