My wife currently has a wireless charging stand that work flawlessly with her Series 3 watch just fine however she now has the Series 4 watch and the stand does not charge her watch. It will see that the watch has been placed in the cradle but won't charge for some reason.

Can anyone recommend one similar to this one in the link that is confirmed working with the Series 4 watch?

That’s currently an issue with the cheap Amazon Watch chargers, my 4 got hot.

The key is in the description, it must say that it supports Series 4. The phone chargers haven’t been an issue so far. If you find one that charges the phone wirelessly and uses the Apple Watch charger, that might be a good choice.

I see and I don’t care if it costs a little I’m just looking for one (similar style) that works if you know of one.

Looks like the original charger you had has now been updated to support s4.

I’m thinking about getting it also

If you get it can you let us know what you think? I'm a little wary since I ordered that style charger before and it didn't work for my AW S4.

EDIT: What the hell, it's $40 and Amazon is great at returns. I ordered it and will update once received with how well it works. Thanks for letting us know!

Can you share what you wife was using originally? I have a Series 3 watch and haven't had luck with any 3rd party mulit-use stands charging the watch.

Thanks!

She had a Apple Watch Series 2 watch and it worked fine. I don’t think it was the change in watch from my understanding it was the update to 5.0 or 5.1 that it won’t charge. But I’m not totally sure.

I’ve tried a few of these AirPower type knock off’s from eBay; same thing, the phone charger side works fine but none of them charge the Series 4 AW. The only ones that do use the actual Apple Watch charger end and incorporate it into their base.

I've got this for my Xs and AW4: https://www.belkin.com/uk/p/P-F8J234/

Expensive? Yes. But it works. It's MFi, has its own built in AW charging puck so I can take my original one elsewhere (e.g. holiday/parents), and looks gorgeous. And I'm going to keep it for at least 4 years because that's the timeline for my phone and watch.

So, for me, it's worth it for how long I intend to keep it, and I've no worries about it being a knock off potentially damaging my devices. My advice is to not buy cheap and buy twice; get something that does the job and does it well. It's worth a few takeaways or dinners out.

awesome keep us posted
So the charger came and I've used it for two nights now. The quality and build is the exact same as the one I had a few months ago, that stopped working constantly and the light would flash green/blue and it would stop charging. I like the weight of it and the feel of the material.

The phone portion charges fine, I can't speak for how fast it charges as it's purely used for overnight charging. But the last two days it's been at 100% when I wake up.

I wear my AW S4 at night to track my sleep, so I don't charge it overnight. Typically what I do is put it on the charger when I wake up then shower/eat and when I leave to go to work I'll put it back on. This morning, I was at 10% battery when I woke up. I put it on the charger and an hour later I was only at 18%. Normally, the charging puck that comes with the AW would have me around 70% by the time I left, which was more than enough for a full day and night. So it appears the charging with the AW is VERY slow. For this reason I'm going to return it. No point in keeping it if it only charges half my devices in the time I need.

Looking at the news posts here on Mac Rumors it appears some name brand third parties are coming out with more combo charging cases in the spring so I'll keep an eye out for those and hope they're not ridiculously priced.

Thanks for the update, I was planning to order this too, but I’ll hold off until something better comes out

Thank you for this. I ended up buying this one from the US Amazon site and after getting a email response from them about me asking if the stand worked with iOS 5.1 and above they said it did, so I bought it.

After getting it and verifying it does indeed charge/works with my wife’s Apple Watch Series 4 with iOS 5.1.2.

Is that blue charging indicator light bright really bright?

I have one of these. Got it as a gift for Christmas. The first one that came didn't charge my Series 4. So the vendor sent us another with the QC 3.0 adapter charger. So far it's working. I have noticed my watch gets a lot warmer while charging than it does with the OEM Apple sells with the watch. The blue LED isn't a big deal I don't notice it. I'm very happy with it I just hope it continues to work. I like the upgrade from the old charging setup I had.

How long does it take for the watch to charge? I had the same one and it went about 8% per hour which was ridiculously slow

It charges about 50-60% overnight. It is very slow, but I charge it every night so no problem. My concern is the heat the charger makes on the watch.

That's insane. I wear my watch at night as I mentioned earlier in this thread. I used to charge my AW on the Apple supplied charging puck for an hour every morning and it would be good enough to get me through 24 hours.
