I’m trying to download my 5500 original photos on my iPhone, but it won’t do it. It won’t even download 1. It just says “downloading 5500 originals”. I’ve left it downloading for several days but still nothing. Tried various different WiFi networks and cell data.

I’ve also tried signing out/in of iCloud, turning off iCloud photos etc, but still nothing.

I’ve now also on my Mac made a copy of the Mac photo library then deleted every image in my iCloud Photo Library (including emptying the trash). I then changed the copied library to be my default iCloud Library and let it reupload all 5500 files. Still nothing. (Although it seemed to upload very quickly, like those files were still in some Apple server cache?)

All the files are perfectly downloaded on my Mac, but just won’t download on iOS.

Any serious ideas???

Sounds like a sync issue.

Try the optimize iPhone storage option. What that does is shows the thumb nails and then if you open it the full res will download as you look it up on you’re device

They all seem to load fine when you open the pic or play the video. It’s like maybe there’s a corrupt file somewhere in the mass of photos. I’m not sure how I can find it?
