Hi all.

My sont monitor finally gave up, so i plugged in a dell to get me by.

Ity has totally messed up the settings, its made the screen so big i cant get access to the system prefrences.

I managed to find the display settings through the folders, and even changing the setings to smaller, still dosent work.

Cant see the dock, the top of the screen or the right, just the middle.

Even making the resoultion bigger/smaller does nothing ??

help !!!

What Mac are you using it with - a mini or a tower? What OS?

It could be that the monitors settings for that display mode and frequency are off. Have you fiddled with the controls on the monitor itself? You never know :)

Not sure what you mean by smaller/bigger. Sounds like you need to set the resolution HIGHER. - Don't mean to be fiddling over semantics, but want to be sure you are going in the right direction.

Also, make sure that your connections are tight. The only other thing that occurs to me is that somehow the universal access settings were changed. If you press control option minus, does that do anything?

When you changed displays, you did turn off your machine first, didn't you? Regardless, if you haven't already, try restarting.

Is there an "auto calibrate" button or something of that nature somewhere on the monitor? I had your same problem with an external monitor, and one day discovered that the display's pop up menu had an option that if selected, would fix the problem. Just a suggestion :) Good luck

Hi

Ive tried the option cntrl minus, and nothing.

Its a g4 dual processor with panther, 10.3.9

ITs hard to explain whats happenning.

Basically, when i adjust the display weather it be 1920x1440 or 640x480 all of them.

It has the full background pic on, but the launcher is no where to be seen, and neither is the top of the screen, or the folders on the right.

Its like its just showingme the middle of the screen, example if i find a quark doc and open it when it opens ill only see a third of the page from the left.

No matter what display i put it on i cannot see the whole screen ??

hope this explains it abit better.
