Hello,

The Photos app on 10.13 works fine with my new RX560 except when I double-click on an image to see it full-screen. When I do that, it only shows a solid block of red pixels (see uploaded picture).

Any ideas?

P.S. Can you imagine how using common words like "Photos" for an app and "Red" (for product RED) has made searching the web for solutions to this problem absolutely impossible???

I searched for this:

That blocks results containing the phrase "product red".

There were a couple of other people with the problem and some suggested solutions. But if any of them worked, nobody bothered to come back and say so.

Thanks for the tip about filtering.

But as you said, the two posts who mentioned it never came back with a solution. And none of their solutions worked for me.

Luckily, I found the solution. At least for me. I can't see how it could help the guy with the iMac. When I have both GPU cards in my Mac (GT120 and RX560), I get the problem. And I get the problem on both cards. But when I remove either of them, everything works.

Strange problem. Thankfully I only use the GT120 when I need boot screen, which isn't often. But it's clear that there's some kind of conflict between them.

If anyone here knows a bit more about how Photos work, I've discovered the precise moment when the red block appears. If I browse images in full screen quickly enough (using arrows), they all appear. But as soon as I stop browsing, the one on the screen goes red. (On the GT120, it turns into a pixel orgy) Clearly, it's the last "pass" that Photos does to optimize the image that is broken.
