I've been having pretty odd issues recently, with a relatively new aluminium iMac (few months old), running Leopard. Since I bought it, it has been crashing consistently. Usually it will crash when parental controls "kick" a user out of their account ie when the user has reached a time limit, but it also crashes when doing trivial things such as surfing the web.
Furthermore, it seems to set the volume at its maximum level at every reboot, which definitely does not happen on any of my other macs.
Does anyone have any idea what is going on? I was thinking of repairing disk permissions, but do you think this is all that is causing the problem?
Thanks.

Can't really help with anything specific but I've found that repairing disk permissions at least once a month is always a good thing, problems or not.

It's gotten to where I don't even hit the verify button, just repair.
