Can you forward the email to another account, then access it from another machine?

Alex.:)

No i tried because its not actually downloaded onto the phone?

Seriously, this is really important. Someone tell me how to fix this.

Three things:

1) What email provider do you use?
2) What kind of email is it (ie is it a fwd, a video, a picture, etc)
3) Can you go on your email provider's website and track it down?

Ok and a bonus question: are you trying to download it on edge or wifi? If it is a huge email, maybe it will go faster over wifi.

Bonus question 2: did you try rebooting the phone?

1) Gmail
2) its a .doc and something else, i dont remember that the iphone doesnt support.
3) No i cant

B1) Doesnt work on either, i originally picked it up on EDGE, but i just cant pick up again.
B2)Tried, doesn't work

Unfortunately, Gmail only uses POP, which means that unless the iPhone and your computer are set to leave messages on the server then it is probably gone. Can you set the iPhone to leave messages on the server and have the sender resend the message? This way you should be able to access it from either place and have it still available on the server. This is one reason that I just changed to .mac (because of IMAP support).

did you ever get that email downloaded?

Unfortunatly i didnt, i just had to suck it up and ask for it to be resent to me again. Thanks for all the help though, and i hope all and or gmail gets on this and fixes this really soon.
:(

No problem. One tip, go into your gmail settings and set all pop3 forwarded mail to be "auto-archived" and then make sure mail is not deleting your emails off the server (that's somewhere in the apple mail prefs). Basically this way you can keep your forwarded mail archived on gmail for situations like that in the future.
