This is a general Windows XP problem, not a Windows on Mac issue. Decade long Mac user, my wife is forced to use Windows XP at her place of work. Heres the issue:

When she boots her Dell and logs in, this prompt immediately pops up:

"The procedure entry point GetProcessImageFileNameW could not be located in the dynamic link library PSAPI.DLL"

On top of that the background is solid blue with huge text saying WARNING your in danger. A program called Total Security pops up running a virus scan trying to get us to buy the full version.

No applications on the computer will launch, and when I hit CTRL+ALT+DEL a prompts comes up saying "Disables by systems administrator."

Any ideas are welcome! She wouldn't be using that crappy thing if she didn't have to. Thanks in advance!

virus i think

my first suggestion is to completely restore the computer to factory settings (whether its an option in BIOS or you have to use the restore CD)
