Ok, I've owned the mba for a week, well maybe 5-6 days but I did love its size, build quality, screen, keyboard, multitouch (but the clicker wasnt perfect.. had more of a clank than a click, anyone else had this problem?) but the fan noise was my #1 reason that I ditched it...

I already own a mac pro so I came to the conclusion recently that I dont need my 17" mbp hi res model... when I'm away from the mac pro I usually just surf the net with itunes on and that's about it... so I can save myself a $1k by selling my 17" mbp and opting for the 1.6/80 mba.

My questions are, have they addressed the fan noise that revs up to 6000rpm most of the time?

no, you're better of waiting for a penryn model to come out, it still revs up quite often.

or if you are opting for the more macrumors apt response:
OMG ITS AWESOME! you can barely hear it, buy it!:cool::cool::cool::apple::apple::apple:

Cool, thanks man I think I'm going to stay away from the mba until the next rev. Man only if the current macbooks have the same led screen as the mba then I would just get a macbook..

The MBA is the perfect complement to your Mac Pro; it's what I did. I use my Pro for all serious work that demand power, and I use my MBA for email, web, iTunes and office apps. The form factor and weight is tough to beat.

But since you're already using a Mac Pro, I would opt for the SSD model. I'm completely happy with the performance of the SSD, and is a better transition from my Mac Pro. :)
