Can someone please correct me if I am wrong?

Is there no way to create publicly shared playlists on Apple Music?

I'm not talking about the option to "share" a playlist with a friend. I am talking about the ability to actually share a playlist with anyone - to make it public, searchable, shareable, and yes, possibly even editable, by the general public.

I am absolutely dumbfounded by this omission. It is, quite simply, and in my opinion, the best feature of Spotify. Look. I learn about new music from my friends whom I trust.

And on-line, from people who have similar taste. It's amazing sometimes when you search for songs you like and discover crazy new playlists. And not from stupid celebrity DJ fake-tastemakers. Blech.

Please prove me wrong. Because I have found no way to either make a playlist public or to find others playlists serendipitously.

It just proves that the people doing Apple Music know nothing about music and how people actually relate to it.

Non-sequitur. It proves nothing, other than that your pet feature isn't (yet) available in Apple Music.

Even a cursory listen to the Apple-curated playlists shows that they know quite a bit about music.

Yep, some of them are very good.

I've also made some very good playlists. And I've also listened to some great playlists from regular joes. And it's cool to be able to, say, read a review of new music and follow a link to the actual playlist of music discussed.

There are playlists on Spotify, for example, that are unofficial soundtracks for movies and TV shows. Try to discover something like that on Apple Music.

I personally think it cripples the music discovery aspect of Apple Music by only letting the cognoscenti create public playlists.

I'll just point out the obvious fact that Spotify is 10 years old, and Apple Music is 1.5 years old. You probably shouldn't expect 100% parity in all functions and social aspects.

Look what I found. Is this what the OP is asking about. I'm an AppleSeed beta tester and this is on 10.2 so not sure if it's new or not or even what it does.

This is officially in 10.2 now:
