Is anybody else quite annoyed that Apple still hasn't sorted out this gaping flaw. If I record a video on my iPhone using the HD Camera, why on Earth would I want it to go into 'photos' ? It should go into the Videos application.

Seriously, its common sense, come on Apple sort it out.

On a more positive note, I like that they finally allowed us to create albums directly on the phone. Although, why can't we move Photos from "Camera Reel" into a Gallery we created? These are basic things I don't understand why such an intellectual company can't implement basic things like this.

Not in my opinion. People often record movies and photos at an event, if you're skimming through the photos of said even and want to watch a video you recorded it's a pain to close photos, open the video app, find the video in the list, close the video app, open the photos app and carry on.

I know that it might be a pain the first time, but afterwards you know where your videos will be so it's a non-issue, and you don't have to deal with the usability nightmare of switching between the photos and videos apps.

I see your point, but the fact is, a video is a video, hence it should be under VIDEOS. All they need to do is have another sub category in the Videos App like they have TV Shows, Music Videos etc and put "Recorded Videos" in there or something.

If you have hundreds of photos and some videos thrown in there, you need to cycle through all those photos until you can spot the video you're looking for. Its very tedious if you have lots of photos. It would be much more functional to group videos in one section, so if I want to view my videos, I know where to find them.

In addition to this we should also be able to rename them. If they truly want the iPhone to be PC Free, then these things MUST be implemented.

Why would I want to have to import my vacation shots two times? Once for photos and once for videos? They all come together now and that's great. Why make it MORE work?

They fixed that. Frankly, I think their solution is easy and nice and doesn't involve splitting up my photos and videos like your idea would.

EDIT: Apparently my screen-shot ONLY works that way when you're in the camera and go to the photo album from there. I agree, they definitely need to add those buttons to the actual photo app as well. Why the photo app and the camera 'view photos mode' are EVER different is beyond me.

Yeah. They should add those tabs to the regular "Photos" app, especially since we can't transfer videos wirelessly. After my photos transfer to my computer via Photo Stream, it would be useful to be able to look just at photos, and delete them from my phone. When they're grouped together with videos, it's too easy to accidentally delete a video before you transfer it to your computer via USB. Of course, they should also just allow photos and videos to be transferred via local WiFi, instead of still requiring USB.
