I'm fairly sure the iPhone YouTube app has been displaying all the same videos since launch day. "Featured" and "Most Viewed" have barely changed from what I can see.

Well I don't know about that but there are also options for today and week also.
New content is on it too. E3 2007 videos are up and that happened this week.

There is a ton of content that is still missing though.
I guess its waiting on a h.264 encode... but I'm mildly frustrated that there still is such a limited selection of already-converted videos.
YouTube isn't about watching the most popular videos (though many people do). It's about broadcasting the off-the-wall stuff that you wouldn't normally watch or can't get through mainstream media.

anyway, is there a search function in iPhone's youtube.app? what will happen if you just navigate to youtube.com and click a video inside iSafari?
There is a search feature, but it only searches from the library of h.264 encoded vid's.
If you navigate to YouTube, you get a message in the place where the video would be saying you need the Flash player. Of course, that isn't available... yet (I hope).
If you happen to Nav to a video that is h.264 encoded, the phone will automatically launch the YouTube app and load the vid that way (I think, don't quote me on this).
I have the same issue. It always seems to be the same video. It could be an encoding issue on YouTube's side. Is there any way to clear out the YouTube cache? Even the most popular "this week" appear to be the ones from "all time".
