Hi guys.

Recieved my fully loaded 11" air this week,Great machine apart from a few niggles im having.

First thing there is a dead pixel. With the res being so high its hardly noticable but me being a little picky its bugging me as i know its there.
Also the base of my machine when the lids open theres a very slight rock as though the base is a little bowed .so when the machines open and i put my hand on the right hand corner it rocks and taps the table. If i grab the top left of the lid and bottom right hand corner of the machine theres a definate slight movement which is also bugging me even though its very slight.

This being my first apple product thats a little defective how do i go about getting this repaird or replaced?

I dont have a apple store near-by so id prefer to have the machine picked up repaired and returned ,is this possible?

Also what sort of turnaround should i expect with this being a custom machine rather than off the shelf?

Any help,advice would be appreciated.

Many thanks

Why would you have it repaired? It's brand new, and you should have Apple swap it out for a new one. Call Apple support and tell them about your issues. The timing to have it repaired vs. them shipping you a new one will be pretty close.

Apple will also e-mail you labels so the return FedEx will be free.

Ok thanks...wasnt too sure how it worked ,whether it would be repaird or replaced.

Replacment would be better as theres also a slight chip on the lid:mad:

Ill give them a call tomorrow and see what they say.

I think you'll have no problem getting a replacement. As most of computer manufactures, 1 dead pixel is not enough for replacement strictly speaking, but from my past experiences with Apple, they'll replace it if you ask nicely. Also yours has other defect. Especially the wobbling base is a good argument point. Again, ask nicely and you should have no hustle getting a replacement.

A chip on the lid? Good Lord, what happened to your machine? With a bent base and a chip on the lid, Apple could question you on whether or not you dropped it as that's very odd to have coming from the factory.

Got a replacment coming:)

Ive had a confirmation email for the replacment and an estimated despatch. One thing im unsure on is the person on the phone told me id have a courier calling to confirm a collection date for the faulty air.

Do i get another email with a returns number i stick on the packaging after the collection has been booked?

Thanks
