Hey all, I got the Service Battery notification under the battery icon recently but after unplugging my MBP and letting run off the battery everything is back to normal. I left my machine plugged in for a number of days because I was away, normally I would unplug and run it off the battery on a regular basis.

From what I've noticed so far, battery life with PB3 is about the same for me as it was in Mavericks.

Just wanted to share this with anyone experiencing something similar.

All in all, I really love Yosemite and the transition has been pretty seamless so far. I feel vast improvements in Safari and the new added features are a welcomed bonus.

I just had the same service battery error problem , I just unplugged it and 5 hours later it went away .
I am not sure what the service battery error is at about but I'm glad it went away

That was my biggest fear when upgrading, I had the Service Battery message when updating from SL to Lion (going back to SL made it go away) and again when I (finally) upgraded from SL to Mavericks (replaced the battery that time).

So far, no Service Battery message with Yosemite (done as an 'over Mavericks' upgrade install vs. clean install).
