I am using a Mac Mini M1 with Monterey to display IOT devices data on Safari.
I need the user to be able to access and use only Safari.
I understood that the guest account limits access to the user only to Safari and this would be perfect in my case.
However, I need to set a password on such guest account. Is there any possibility to set a password on the guest account?
If not, How can I make a user that can access only Safari?

Thanks for helping.

You cannot do anything like that with the Guest account since it is run from the recovery volume and can't be altered.

Just make a second account on the Mac then use Screen Time setting to only allow the access you want. See the link at the top.

Yep, do exactly what @Weaselboy mentioned.

There used to be a way to convert a user to a "Parental Controls" account, or create a new "Parental Controls" account way back in the day, I don't know if that still exists though. If not, you'll have to exclude all the apps except for Safari manually.

I haven't done this in years so that's all I can tell you that's somewhat accurate.
