Setting custom From address in iOS Apple Mail?

Does anyone know if it is possible to set a custom From address in iOS Apple Mail?

Like many people, I have my own domain name and use different email addresses for different purposes. There is only one actual mailbox for the domain to which all email to valid addresses is delivered. I'd like to be able to send mail from iOS Mail using the appropriate From address rather than the default email address for the account, but I can't see any way to be able to do this.

Does anyone know if it is possible or if there is such a thing as an add-on for iOS Mail which would allow it?

The domain is hosted by whom?

It's just hosted by an ordinary web hosting company. Obviously I could set up an additional IMAP account on the hosting server for each email address, and then set up each address as a new account in iOS Mail, but that's far too cumbersome.

My setup is not that uncommon, so it would be really useful if there is a way to change the From address, as needed, in iOS Mail. On the desktop you can do this in many mail clients, eg in Thunderbird via an add-on.

If it's set up as a generic IMAP account in iOS, then you can already add alias addresses via Settings>Mail, Contacts, Calendars>YourAccount>Account>Email.

Many thanks for that! Your help is very much appreciated.

It's not exactly the most obvious setting to find or use ("Add another email…" without saying what that setting actually means or does), but it looks like it will mostly do the job, at least for my main addresses.

It would be more useful if it could recognise an email sent to one of the other addresses and select that as the default From address automatically, and it would be even more handy if I could manually change the From field when using one of the many less-used addresses (each company gets a unique address so that I can tell who might be misusing the address), but it's a function along the right lines, at least.

I don't use the feature, really. Just test that sort of thing for clients.

You may get different results replying to old messages sent to aliases as compared to new messages that come in after you've added the aliases in iOS.
