iPod setting date and time on ipod classic

I can't set the date and time to the proper Tokyo date and time, even though I chose Tokyo from the world map. The time turns up as September 25, not March 11, 2009.
How can I correct this?

Time and date should sync up with your computer when you dock it. Is your computer's clock set correctly?
