setting quicktime for default player

can anyone help me out with this? i cant seem to figure out how to change the default player from itunes to quicktime for wav files - such a stupid question but i cant figure out how to change it. im sure its easy but im a recent convert so bear with me

Select one of the wav files. use the get info ( command+I)
scroll down to the open with tab select quicktime and hit the change all,
so now all .wav file types will play through QT.
