After much debate both externally and internally, Here is my current MacBook Pro Setup
8,1
2.4GHz i5 5th Gen
4GB DDR3 1333 MHz soon to be 8GB DDR3 1600MHz when the package comes in
500GB 5400 RPM HDD soon to be 256 SSD when the package comes in
OSX 10.11 El Capitan

Why El Cap?
The apple technician said it was one of the lost OSXs to take into consideration the fact that the majority of their users were still using the 2012 MBP

So....
Question time
Fortnite? I know it runs on 10.13 fine, but will it run on 10.11?
CAD Software? How well will it run in its CURRENT configuration? (F360 and Maya)
Animation -- Any good software out there besides Maya?

Best

I don't know why you would only upgrade to 8GB RAM. The difference between 8 and 16 is minimal. (Does it not support 16?)

I wouldn't listen to the Apple technician. That's horrible advice to stick with an obsolete OS. You will find more and more apps that won't work or where you will have to stick with an obsolete version of the app.

If Apple thought the machine were not suitable for current MacOS, they would have withdrawn support. There tech (was it THEIR tech, or did you mean the "Apple technician" as a generic term?) is giving advice contrary to company policy.
