Ok so probably a dumb question but I've never actually done this now that I think about it. I have a cMP 5 1 with a 120gb SSD for a boot drive running High Sierra. I want to add a 1tb HDD for more storage. my question is how does one go about setting that up? I assume I format it the same way as I did the boot drive but how will the machine know to use that drive for storage? Its probably simple but I just want to make sure I do this correctly. Thanks in advance for the help.

1. Pop the hard drive into either one of the drive sleds in the MP.
2. format it in Disk Utility to whatever scheme and format you want (I recommend Mac OS (Journaled) or the all new APFS with a GUID partition map)
3. now you can use that drive for whatever you want, you can set your downloads on your web browser to download to the drive by setting the directory you want, (I can go into more detail about it if you want) you can put any files you want by dragging and dropping files from your drive to the 1TB drive via Finder

Thank you for the replies, I didn't think it was too difficult but I had never done it before.
