I've spent the afternoon cleaning/installing/trying to set up a new Cambridge Audio network streamer/DAC into my HT system. I got the unit to flash a teal-colored light, indicating it was setting up a connection to my WIFI; this took about ten minutes. When that light went out the Cambridge instructions then told me to:

Connecting to a wireless network

iOS:

1. Ensure that your MXN 10 is in range of your wireless router, and then power on your unit.
2. Go to the Wi-Fi settings on your iOS device and under ‘SETUP NEW AIRPLAY SPEAKER’ select 'MXN10'.

3. Once connected, to complete unit setup download and install the StreamMagic app from the Apple App store.

(forgive the screwed up formatting above, I'm not very good at that either)

When I get to Step 2, I go to my WIFI setting on my iPhone (SE v2 w/latest iOS), there is no "SETUP NEW AIRPLAY SPEAKER" section; I see the main section with the On/Off slider, a My Network section, a Other Networks section, and Ask to join Networks/Hotspot section; nothing else.

Anyone have an idea of what I'm missing/doing wrong? No doubt it's something simple but I can't see it and I've been futzing for over two hours. Thanks.

Yeah, that’s very confusing from my perspective. It seems to defy how AirPlay works.

HomePods are setup via an iPhone, for example. However, most AirPlay devices/speakers should just be discoverable (i.e., appear when connected to the same network).

Anyway… Let’s step back for a minute...

After reading the related instructions:
Android:
  1. Ensure that your MXN10 is in range of your wireless router, and then power on your unit.
  2. Download and install the StreamMagic app from the Google Play store.
  3. Open the StreamMagic app and select ‘Connect’.
  4. Under Choose a device select 'Set up a new device' and then select the MXN10.
  5. Select ‘Wireless Connection’ and then 'Continue'.
  6. Your Android device will now show all available Wi-Fi devices in range. Select 'Setup:MXN10'.
  7. Once connected, you will be prompted to enter your Wi-Fi network password. Enter the password and select 'Continue'.
  8. Your MXN10 will now connect to your Wi-Fi network, this may take up to a minute.
  9. Once connected, complete the initial setup of your unit within the StreamMagic app.

Set up
  1. Switch on your player.
  2. Open the StreamMagic app and follow the instructions provided to complete setting up your player on your network. This process will also apply any new updates that may be pending.

I’m going to continue with my guess as to what they’re attempting to describe.

After the unit is first powered on (or following a reset to default/factory) and fully booted (i.e., I assume when the teal colored light stops flashing), it’s going to generate its own (i.e., ad-hoc) wireless network to allow (continuing) setup.

So...
I go to my WIFI setting on my iPhone (SE v2 w/latest iOS), there is no "SETUP NEW AIRPLAY SPEAKER" section;
Does ‘MXN10' or 'Setup:MXN10' appear as a joinable Wi-Fi network?

If yes, connect to it, and launch the StreamMagic app to "complete the initial setup of your unit."
