Setting up new SSD in Mac Pro

Howdy fellas,

This might be a stupid question but I'm gonna ask anyways:

Once I've selected one partiton from the Partition sub menu, chosen the GUI table, given it a name and clicked apply, will I still have to klick on the partition and do an erase?

Nope, you're good to go. Once you've hit apply to create the partition it's clean.
