I downloaded Yosemite last night. I was going to run through it this morning but my son got to it before me. He said it asked questions, he answered and now I have a big grey box on my screen saying Setting up your Mac....
Is this supposed to happen? I have no idea what he has done, if anything. Can someone please advise? Thank you

Sounds normal but it shouldn't stay on the "Setting up..." page for more than a few minutes (the 4 I have done were all 2-3mins at most IIRC).

Before that page (again IIRC), it asked for your AppleID password, but you can always enter that afterwards I think.

setting up mac staying on screen

Thankyou for your reply. Everything appears to be working fine so far so it's not like I can't use my mac, I just don't know how long it's going to stay or how I can make it go :)

Oh you mean the window is stuck but the Mac is fine?

Probably just restart it when convenient will clear that, I seriously doubt it is still setting anything up after that long...
