SFBags Waterfield Macbook Air SleeveCase - anyone have one?

I'm thinking of ordering one for my 13.3" macbook air. Thinking about going for the basic sleeve without the flap - I'll be using it inside another bag. Anyone have one of these that can comment on quality/value? Also, is the case itself rigid or flexible?

I had a booq vyper sleeve for my 15" macbook pro, and I loved that thing. I'd get another, but they don't have a customized version for the macbook air.

I had the SleeveCase for my iPad (before I sold the iPad for the Air), which is very similar to the Air SleeveCase. It was fantastic. Excellent quality and offered very good protection while stashed in my bag.

For the Air, I got the WaterField Suede Jacket Sleeve because I wanted it to be as thin as possible. It keeps the Air fro getting scratched, but offers little to no real protection.

I just received one for my MBP.
It is very good quality, with substantial padding. It is not super-thin, but also not as thick as some of the sleeves I've seen offered in the Apple store.

I've gotten them for me and my wife, and got my work to get them for a project that the customer wanted 30+ Macs for. I love these cases to death.

I have the sleeve (awesome!) for my 11" but unfortunately still waiting for me MBA. As soon it is in I will post pictures with the sleeve.

I already use SFBags since my gen-a MBA, and now for my 17" MBP. The beste sleeves out there. Fits perfect.

I've wrapped my MBA in a bestskinsever shield, which I absolutely love. Love the way it looks and feels, and pretty much makes it invulnerable to scratches. Just need a sleeve of some kind to protect from minor impacts while bouncing around in my laptop bag (which I also love - booq folee).

I have the 11" suede sleeve and it is perfect for my use. Found the MBA to be a little slippery at times and the sleeve is the perfect weight for moving from office to office and meeting to meeting. I especially like the loops on each side for helping slip the sleeve on and off. Small amount of padding in bottom cushions the final insert.

The Waterfield case is real nice, if a bit pricey (atleast on my graduate student salary). A colleague of mine has the Waterfield sleeve for his Macbook Pro, and the build quality is superb. Might I suggest, however, the Incase sleeve, since you said that you will be carrying your Air sleeve inside another bag. The Incase sleeve for the Air 13.3 is what I purchased last week, and serves this purpose well (while looking slim). They can be ordered off ebay for cheap (elsewhere they are out of stock). Just my two cents. Either way, with Waterfield or Incase you can't go wrong.

Also, is the cheapest place to get the incase on eBay? I see it for about $33 USD shipped, whereas the waterfield would be $46 shipped. Not a significant difference actually, considering I spent $1450 on the MBA

I have the sleeve for the 11.6, like others said it is a very nice sleeve. Good padding, durable material.

My sleeve has the flap and since I will use it alone I also have a strap.

Great sleeve, a little pricey, biy worth it to me.

The waterfield is a bit bulkier -- hence, will provide more shock protection. I can't say how much more protection, though. You are right about the price difference being negligible. (It's just I'm in Toronto so the shipping on the Waterfield was minimum $20 USD compared to the handful of Canadian dollars I paid on ebay for shipping.) I paid 22 Canadian dollars (roughly 20-21 USD) for my incase sleeve last week so keep looking. eBay seems to be the few places that still has the air incase sleeve, which is currently unavailable on the incase website.

I'd say if you want a bit more protection go Waterfield. Enjoy your Air.

wow, that looks killer, especially with the leather trim! very stylish and exudes class.

I didn't realize it was almost 1.5" thick. That means there's about a third of an inch of padding on both sides of the air. pretty decent protection i gather.

Yes yes yes. Go for it. .....I guarantee it.

I have the horizontal with the leather and the strap.
Best case I've ever bought (and i've bought a zillion).

Plenty of protection to carry it on shoulder. No worries at all.

Note: notice the pull tabs on these. Very useful

Note2: don't like the fabric trim (Taxicab?). .....to each their own

It's not fleece, as far as I can tell.
More like heavy felt.

In a pinch you could probably stuff the charger and lan cable in that outside pocket, but I wouldn't make it a regular thing.

No. They're built to hold the machine they're built for. It'd be too tight with an iPad in there too.
