So I ripped the remastered Sgt. Pepper album on iTunes and synced it to my Apple TV. The track 'Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band' plays fine on both my iMac and iPod but for some reason on the Apple TV only the backing track seems to play until about 45 seconds through where the first lyrics are "We're Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" but on the iMac and on the iPod the track plays correctly with the proper lyrics which start with "It was twenty years ago today". Why does the Apple TV play this track incorrectly? It seems to play every other track fine.

Sounds like your AppleTV is either hooked up incorrectly to your speakers/receiver. This album...and many of the mid 60s Beatles albums, were heavy with stereo effect like one vocalist in one speaker, and not in the other.
EDIT: Just listened to in on my iPod...Paul's vocal is on the right track...so focus on your red cabling.
(John/Backup "We're Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band...." is exclusively in the Left channel btw.)It's obviously a speaker issue. Do you have a balance option on your system?
Is it JUST a TV or a TV and receiver? I use HDMI to hook up to my TV, but the digital optical out for audio into my receiver.
So, check and see if your right speaker (either on the TV or in your system) is operating. Check for balance control on your system/TV...it would be set all the way to the left for this to be your problem based on your issues with this particular song.
Also, there may be a mono vs. stereo issue with your system. Althoiugh most mono setting just blend both channels...some may take one channel specifically as the main channel.
I can't imagine the problem is with the AppleTV, unless the right audio pin socket inside the HDMI housing is broken. You can always try a different HDMI cable...again I connect my sound through digital out and not HDMI so I don't have any experience with audio over HDMI. Can you try usuing either optical out or the 'RCA' red and white cables and see if this improves your situation?

Although these type of settings more often spread the sound out across the channels rather than eliminating it from one specific channel, or makes the sound that is usually in the center...muffled (for lack of a better term). It doesn't usually eliminate the right channel...BUT still worth checking...again IF you have a receiver.
I can pretty much guarantee that you have the very same issue with the start of "A Day in the Life" John Lennon's vocal will be very, very low and muted until approximately "....he blew his mind out in a car" at which point the vocal track starts to move from exclusively right, slowly to the left channel.
Check that out. You most assuredly have an issue with that song too. Also Paul's vocal for "Woke up, fell out of bed..." should be nearly unintelligible as it is focused on the right track as in Sgt. Pepper.

Thank you, it was my TV, I thought it would be the Apple TV because I have never had problems before and I tried Sgt. Pepper through youtube and it played fine, it must have been a mono version
