When I try and open a game I have just installed, I get the following message and log.

I am guessing this means it isn't compatible with my graphics card (AMD Radeon HD 6770M 512 MB)?

Is there a work around to try and make it work on this iMac? As much as I would love to upgrade this 2011 machine, the funds aren't there to do so :(

TIA

The 6770M doesn't support Metal.

I'm not sure why it refers back to Shader Model 3.0. Microsoft's Shader Model 3.0 was first supported in DirectX 9.0c-- which is positively ancient.

However, the user manual says

  • 64-bit Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 10

  • Intel Core i3-2100T @ 2.5GHz or AMD FX-4100 @3.6 GHz

  • Nvidia Geforce GTX 650, AMD Radeon HD 7770 graphics card or better (min. 2 GB VRAM, DX11 support)

  • 4GBRAM

  • 20 GB free hard drive space

  • Soundcard

  • DVD-ROM Drive (only for retail version)

So even if you did the bootcamp thing, you wouldn't be able to run it.

The previous version, Farming Simulator 2017 requires

  • OS: Windows 7/8/10

  • PROCESSOR: AMD/Intel 2.0 GHz dual-core

  • RAM MEMORY: 2 GB

  • GRAPHICS CARD: 1 GB, DirectX 11, AMD Radeon HD 6770/NVIDIA

    GeForce GTS 450

  • HARD DISK SPACE: 6 GB

  • DVD-ROM: 2X DRIV

The desktop version of the 6770 is quite a bit more powerful than the 6770M.

so it appears that you're out of luck.
