Hello all,

There's a little something or other rattling around inside my 3G iPhone so I thought I'd have a look here to see if anyone else had experienced the same problem. Turns out lots of people have, and the symptoms are always exactly the same - shaking the phone up and down produces the rattle, but shaking it side to side does not. But unless I've missed a thread somewhere, no one seems to have gotten to the bottom of what's causing it. If the issue is as common as it seems to be, surely Apple must be aware if it?

Does anyone know what's going on? The phone stills works perfectly (vibration function and all) but the rattle is annoying ...

I've never heard of that. I'd take it to the Apple Store to see if they'll give you a new one. (Remember to back it up before you hit the store though)

My brother has that same problem with his 3g. He asked me if I'd heard anything about it and I told him I hadn't, but to take it to the genius bar. I doubt he has yet, though.
