We just waste time waiting and complaining. At the end, they released the MBP 2016 with lots of issues.

Obviously Tim is to blaim for MacBook Pro 2016 issues but we can't overlook his contribution in Apple Inc.

The Mac as we know it is being phased-out. Apple no longer wants to be the the computer business. It will be all iDevices and iOS very soon. I'm on my second iMac and I'm certain it will be my last---and I take no pleasure in saying that.

The issue is Apple were never a big player in the overall computer market. For all the iMac did to revive the company when Steve returned it was the iPod then iPhone which saw them really take off. I'm sure updated Macs will continue to come through just as I am sure there are people open these boards who will complain about them.

If you think how many PC manufacturers there used to be compared to now, I would say at best it is a stable market dominated by Dell. I don't feel there is any more innovation to be had from the computer market, just incremental upgrades. Nothing even the great Steve Jobs could do to change that.

Ridiculous. Apple made 5.7 billion dollars on Macs in the last quarter. There is no way they are abandoning that market and leaving that much money on the table.

The MBP 2016 is the evident. The line up is in the process of being converted into iPad.

You can't trust Tim Cook. For the iPad campaign it was the future of personal computers. For the MacBook it's something they 'care a lot about' and is the best ever and they've come a long way. Blah blah blah

I guess the question I have is, who says Tim is going anywhere, anytime soon?

How long does a CEO last ? I can't wait *that* long before a get a new Mac.

One day u just wish u'd wake up and Apple would turn over a new leaf..

They make great/better products, with more features/ hardware and visually like the Touchbar and Touch ID, BUT at the same time the hardware problem would NOT rise, but reduce... instead. To me that says, 'Apple is getting better at what they do'

You guys tend to forget, that apple is being run differently now. Tim is not micro managing.. Its each department's responsibility and work, that makes it into the products - like a normal company.

If you get another CEO, i doubt the products themselves will be any different, since this is the product of the mac department - and quite frankly, i don't think the mac would have looked much different under Steve, except it would have been released a bit earlier with less bugs, because of the way he was driving people to work 60+ hours a week.

The Mac is not going anywhere, hell, they are deeply invested in their software dev department like Final Cut Pro (which gotten a lot better), and Logic pro x, which has gotten a lot better (I use it frequently).

The computer itself as we know it, has changed though. Look at HP's newest designed laptops, only USB-C. When it comes to phones, samsung is now also removing the headphone jack. Times are changing, embrace or reject the changes to come, it won't be any different :)

One thing i do think is worse now, is the rate of bugs (But can't really tell if its just blown out of proportions), and low rate of mac updates (mac mini, iMac, mac pro, etc). We can only guess why, but i dont think a single man is responsible for all this, since apple is not micromanaged anymore. Apple is not a startup anymore, its a huge corp, with different department which makes decisions for themselves by their own experts.

Btw, They said themselves the mac is not going anywhere. If thats a lie, i really dont see why they spend so much R&D money on software development for the Mac - they have even made big purchases of companies for their Mac software.

I agree that they should speed up their game hardware wise, or at least keep up with their hardware upgrades, while they develop their next mac model - maybe they have just gotten too big? dunno.

If the board replace the whole management, with any other ordinary IT management, it will just become another pc manufactorer, and their apple dna will be gone for sure. Times will tell which way it will go, but as outsiders, i dont think we can guess anything, when we dont know whats going on internally.

I'm not a fan of Tim Cook as CEO (as i've said before).

But to all of you who are calling for him to leave/step-down, who better would replace him? (Honest question, I cannot think of anyone myself).

Assuming that Tim not being CEO anymore would lead to a better(in our opinion anyway) Apple is not logical, it *could* very likely get worse with someone else.

(Coincidentally, I always felt that Forstall would have made a good CEO(just a hunch), who knows maybe he could do what Jobs did, and return to "save" the company someday :) )

Until you can code iOS apps on an iPad, or even Windows, the Mac line is "safe".

This is worth a thread. An optimistic discussion
