Share connection from Mac mini to HP microserver

Hello everyone. I have a problem. Till recently I've just had a Mac mini computer and Airport Express router. Now I bought a HP microserver for storing files and downloading. What I want to do is to share Mac mini Wi-Fi connection from Airport Extreme with HP microserver via Ethernet cable.

What I would like to make:

Airport Express router -> via Wi-Fi to -> Mac mini and from mini -> via Ethernet cable to -> HP computer

I've just set Internet sharing in System Preferences (I choose share my connectin from Wi-Fi to Computer using Ethernet). This seems to work, the only problem is that HP computer gets only local LAN IP (something like 192.168.2.2) which is good only for local LAN and not internet (WAN).

Current IP-s:

Airport Express: 10.0.1.1
Mac mini: 10.0.1.3
Unknown device: 192.168.2.1
HP computer: 192.168.2.2

What I would like:

Airport Express: 10.0.1.1
Mac mini: 10.0.1.3
HP computer: something like 10.0.1.4

That way my HP computer will be able to connect to WAN-internet. Do you have any idea how can I accomplish this? Thanks in advance.
 
The way you describe it should work, the Ethernet is sharing the connection though and as far as I know can not be set to 10.0.1.x because you then get conflicts.
I share my connection many times and overall it works, even though the shared connection has a totally different IP number.

What you could try is to set the HP to a static IP and use the 192.168.2.2 as IP and 192.168.2.1 as the routers IP and dns.
 
In Windows the problem seems to be DNS.

There is something strange I think. When I run IP scanner it return IP-s:

10.0.1.1 -> router
10.0.1.3 -> probably Mac mini Wi-Fi card's IP
192.168.2.1 -> probably Mac mini Ethernet card IP
and 192.168.2.2 -> HP computer IP (I can reach it via remote)



But in OSX ethernet card is configured with totaly different IP. There is also no DNS server IP. Any idea what can I do?

I actually don't really remember if I tried this before but you might be able to do it this way:

Enable sharing from Airport to Ethernet, BUT, before you do click on Network, then Ethernet and set it Manually, after you did this enable Sharing.
Might work, I think I did once long time ago but can't remember if it works.

Edit: I did not see your screenshot, didn't wait for the page to load, I can see now it is a 169.XXX.XXX.XXX number, if you get this there is no internet connection.

I just don't understand why IP scanner shows IP 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.2.2 if I configured Mac mini ethernet card to have IP address of 192.168.0.1 with a subnet mask 255.255.255.0 :confused:
